TRAVEL DIARY: COLUMBUS, OHIO

Wednesday, June 08, 2016

This past week I took a short trip to Columbus, Ohio to visit my friend, Heather, I met abroad last year! It was great to see her again and catch up. She first took me around Ohio State, which is huge! I went to a very small private university and the experiences are super different. After she showed me around a little bit we made dinner and got ready to go out to a few bars, and let me tell you it was probably the cheapest night out ever! I paid for 3 drinks what I would pay for 1 in Boston so that was a total win :). The next day we went shopping in the Short North which is filled with cute shops and got coffee at One Line which was absolutely amazing! I got the Honey almond milk latte and it was perfect, just sweet enough without being too sweet. Then that night we went to The 1975 concert at Express Live which is a great outside venue and the band had a great stage presence. Heather and I decided to go on a hike at High Bank Metro Park the next morning and it was nice to get out in nature and do some exercise before going back to her apartment and get ready for the day and going to the German Village where we went to this super cool book store. On my final day we went to the City of Roses and read our books that we bought at the book store. Unfortunately not all the rose bushes were bloomed so there were a lot of flower-less bushes but it was still very pretty and kind of reminded me of Regent's Park in London.

The trip was a great post-grad, pre-the rest of my life trip and I loved catching up with Heather and I hope we reunite again soon! maybe next time with the whole gang :).

I made a small Travel Diary video you can check out below!

See you soon!
