Summer 2015 Makeup Essentials

Tuesday, June 02, 2015

I love having a natural, glowing makeup look for summertime, it’s easy and it doesn’t become completely ruined when you add a little sweat into the mix. A few of the products I’m going to talk about in this post can only be found in the UK. I just got back to America after living in London for 5 months and I have accumulating quite a few new products, it is going to be a really sad day when I run out and can’t repurchase my new favorites. Anyway getting on with my post here are my go-to summer makeup essentials:

 Golden eye

shadow I love using gold and bronze eye shadows because they create a more natural look and complement most eye colors. I have green eyes and gold eye shadow really makes them pop! It also is a nice break from the dark colors I usually wear during the fall and winter months. My favorite gold eye shadow combinations are half baked and smog from the Urban Decay Naked 1 palette and ochre and golden brown from the collection eyes uncovered palette. The collection palette is a great dupe for the naked palette, as you can see Smog and Golden Brown are very similar.

 Soft pink lips

I have loved the light pink lipstick trend this season. Usually when I wear a lipstick I am drawn towards darker reds and berries even during the warmer months but this year I decided to step out of my comfort zone and buy a light pink lipstick to try out. Now I wouldn’t be including this in my essentials if I didn’t absolutely love the way it looked! I bought 4 new lip colors in a week! My 2 current favorites are Laura Mercier Paint Wash liquid lip colour in Golden Peach and Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Pink in the Afternoon. They are very similar but Revlon is significantly cheaper so if you don’t have the budget to go buy Laura Mercier, Revlon has great lipsticks, they have great pigmentation and are long lasting. IMG_2170 Bronzer Now if anyone out there is as pale as me you know the struggle of looking tan in the summer. I cannot for the life of me get a tan, I just burn when I get sun and then go right back to being fair. Bronzer is an important part of my summer make up because it helps be achieve the sun-kissed glow you are supposed to naturally get during the summer months. I just started consistently using bronzer a few months ago because I was always too scared I would look ridiculous but one of my friends told be to purchase one and I'm glad I listened because it complete transforms a makeup look. The bronzer I have been loving is the face contour palette by Sleek makeup in the shade light. It’s the perfect shade for my skin tone and doesn’t make my face look orange or fake. IMG_2167IMG_2168 True pink blush After adding the sun kissed glow of bronzer to your face it is necessary to bring your face back to life with a little blush. Lately, I’ve been really enjoying a true pink blush reminiscent of natural blushing. This final pop of color really brings the whole make-up look together. My current favorite blush is the Revlon cream blush in charmed enchantment. IMG_2169 Now here is my everyday makeup look that uses all the essentials I have mentioned above. As you can see it is a very natural look that is great for everyday essential makeup look Do these makeup product stack up to your essentials?
