HOMEMADE APPLE CIDER RECIPE

Friday, October 14, 2016

Is there anything more Fall than Cider? I don't think so! Since I went apple picking last week I have a BUNCH of yummy apples that I need to use so why not make some homemade cider?

I've found a few different recipes that all basically say the same thing and it turns out it is very easy to make. You basically just quarter about 8 apples( I used 9 since I had a few small ones), toss them in a pot, fill the pot with water up to where the apples end, add about a 1/2-1 cup of sugar, 4 tablespoons All Spice, and 4 tablespoons Cinnamon, boil the mixture for about an hour, simmer for two more hours, mash up the apples and strain.

And OMG my whole house smells like a freakin Bath and Body Works candle and its glorious. The straining process is pretty annoying, though, and it takes a lot of effort to get out all the cider.

This is a pretty time consuming but easy recipe to follow! I also added a few modifications like adding chai to make an apple chai or for a sweeter treat, add some caramel syrup so it tastes like you're drinking a candy apple!

Have you ever tried making your own cider?

See you soon!
