Hello Everyone!

This past weekend I took a short trip to Charleston, NC for Labor Day weekend and I thought it was the perfect opportunity to share my carry-on makeup essentials. I try to keep my makeup bag pretty light when I do weekend travel, especially in the heat.

Concealer is a MUST for me. I'm super self-conscious about my under eye circles so I rarely leave the house with some concealer under my eyes. My current go-to concealer is the Nars Radiant Creamy concealer in the shade Creme Brulée and when I'm not as tanned I'm in the shade Vanilla.

Powder is super important if you are traveling somewhere hot and humid to make sure your makeup stays in place all day. My current power is the NYX translucent powder, which I'm going to be honest with you I don't love but I'm cheap and I'm going to use it all up.

I mean, mascara is just a necessity! I rarely leave the house without some on. My favorite mascara right now is Tarte's Light, Camera, Lashes because it lengthens and gives my lashes volume without having to curl them.

Summertime vacations are all about the GLOW. So I scratched the bronzer and went full golden glow. My all-time favorite highlighter is unfortunately a limited release product and is gone forever 😭 its ColourPop Cosmetics highlighter in Churro.

You always need some blush to give a pop to your face and currently I've been obsessed with coral blushes and Benefit's Galifornia blush is gorgeous with the gold dusting mixed in and complements the highlighter very nicely.

Usually, I'm a brow pomade girl because I love an intense brow but for the sake of easy travel I decided to go with ABH brow wiz (in the shade Dark Brown) because it takes up less room in my makeup bag.

I decided to take a single eyeshadow over a palette because 1. I love going for easy looks while on vacation because I'd rather spend my time exploring than getting ready and 2. when you are taking only a carry-on space in limited and I don't want to bulk it up with a palette. My ride or die eyeshadow has to be Urban Decay's sin. Its the perfect neutral shade for me.

My favorite summer shade is Laura Mercier's liquid lipstick in Petal Pink. Its the perfect summer pink that adds a nice pop of color but is nice and soft for a natural look.

In the Summer and on vacations I tend to avoid eyeliner because I feel like it ends up all over my face by the end of the day from the heat and sweat (ew) but I packed some in my makeup bag so I could glam up my look for the nighttime.

These are what I chose to bring with me in my carry-on! What are your makeup essentials for travel? Let me know in the comments!

See you Soon!
x Emily
